Beginner Ski Areas in Seefeld
The Geigenbühel Ski Area
This small hill near the village centre is popular with beginners of all ages and the Geigenbühel draglifts are the first lifts that most beginners will use in Seefeld.
There are a couple of simple moving carpet lifts for practice once beginners have got the idea of controlling their skis.
The next stage is the T-bar which rises to the top of this ideal beginners area and the first run down the hill is a gentle trail winding around the back and then into a shallow valley by the children's ski school area.
When skiers can manage the front slope from top to bottom it is time to move over the back onto the Birkenlift, with parallel dragligts and then on to the easier slopes at the Gschwandtkopf or the Rosshütte.
It is the principal meeting place for Seefeld Ski School and their children's ski school and ski nursery is near the bottom of this lift.
The Birkenlift Ski Area
The Birkenlift area provides easy blue descents for beginner skiers. The two draglifts, side by side, play home to ski school groups and family skiers who are getting used to using T-bars. Although the runs are short, they are usually kept in good condition and provide an excellent practice area at the beginning of a vacation.
There is a popular restaurant and sun terrace at the bottom of the slopes on this side.

Lift Tickets
The best way of using the lifts at the beginning is by buying blocks of points cards. The number of points taken for each lift is marked on the lift map available at the lift pass offices and the ski school. Generally draglifts will be one or two points and chairlifts and cable cars will use more.
