What ski clothing to take away with you on vacation? Here's a checklist to see how your packing is doing so far... Remember, layering is the best idea with ski clothing.
Hat (with ear covering), good sunglasses, possibly ski goggles
Underwear (silk or lightweight manmade fabric is best), lightweight t-shirts, lightweight rollneck pullovers, lightweight fleece, shell outer garment (preferably waterproof or water-resistant)
Underwear (silk or lightweight madnmande fabric longjohns are best), shell outer pants or trousers. If you have a choice between waterproof tops or bottoms, choose the bottoms. Your ski pants have more of a chance of coming in contact with the snow, especially if you are sitting on the ground or on a snow-covered chairlift.
Boots or hiking shoes with good grip on snow for walking to the ski hire shop or ski lifts, lightweight socks for skiing
You can get all kinds of weather in the Alps in winter - layering will help you deal with most of them. Don't forget to pack some good clothes - some four and five star hotels expect guests to dress smartly for dinner, and it is always nice to make a change from the casual daytime ski gear.
